What to do in Nashville

Want more Bluegrass?

Look no further than historic Station Inn (stationinn.com). Be sure to bring cash and get ready for a unique Nashville and American experience. Just 3 miles up the road from our home and located in the Gulch (before the Gulch was cool!), Station Inn is the premiere bluegrass joint. Doors open at 7pm (stationinn.com).

Want gumbo and a poboy?

Head to the Gulch (explorethegulch.com) for two different Louisiana food options - Marsh House for New Orleans style or Gumbo Bros for downhome Louisiana style. Marsh House (marshhouserestaurant.com) has KT's favorite gumbo in town, while you can't beat Gumbo Bros (thegumbobros.com) shrimp po-boy. Either way, the Gulch is a fun spot for dining and shopping, as well as a connector to downtown Nashville spots, including the Frist Museum of Art, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the National Museum of African American Music.

Brunch and a stroll options

One of the biggest transformations in Nashville over the past 10+ years has been its neighborhoods and walkability. Our Belmont/12th South neighborhood is perhaps one of the biggest transformations. We love Proper Bagel on Belmont Blvd (properbagel.com), and 12th South highlights Frothy Monkey, which has been a go-to spot since 2004 (Fun fact: The ORIGINAL Frothy Monkey was started in KT's hometown of Ruston, LA, the 12th South location opened by a family friend). There are so many wonderful dining and shopping options - check out additional ideas here: styleblueprint.com/nashville/everyday/12-south-neighborhood.

What are other fun Nashville areas to explore?

Just outside of Nashville in historic Franklin, TN (35 min drive) is the Nashville Wine, Whiskey & Chocolate Festival at The Factory in Franklin starting at 11:30am on February 15th. You can't go wrong exploring Nashville's Germantown and its many amazing restaurants, an adjacent gateway to downtown Nashville (styleblueprint.com/nashville/everyday/germantown-nashville-neighborhood).

Ok, just give me one honky tonk option...

There is only one in our humble opinion: Robert's Western World (robertswesternworld.com), the only place you can buy a beer and boots under one roof. If you are angling for a solid pair of boots, walk down one block towards the river to Boot Barn.
